Pero Milošević no longer Lovćen coach

After 15 months Pero Milošević is no longer coach of Lovćen. As announced in a joint official statement, Milošević and Montenegrin champions mutually terminated the contract "due to disagreements over the concept of work and further development of the club".

Last summer, Milošević extended his contract for this season, but there was interruption of cooperation due to disagreements with the management of the club.

Until further notice, Milošević's assistant, Zoran Abramović will be in charge of the team.

In the summer 2011 the most successful coach in the history of this club returned to Cetinje, his native city and to the club where he started his playing and coaching career. After just one year of work, he brought the first title in five years. Also, he won a national cup last season and Lovćen became the first team in the independent history of Montenegro with the double crown.

In the first season of the regional SEHA League, Lovćen finished on the sixth place, what was a very good result for a young team.

"I owe big thanks to the players with whom I have worked over the past 15 months. I'm delighted with this cooperation. Simply, I'm proud of them. Together we won the double crown, after several years without the title, we were the biggest surprise of last season in the regional league," Milošević said.

In this season, under the command of Milošević, Lovćen failed to get a place in the VELUX EHF Champions League as Montenegrin champions lost both matches at the qualification tournament in Belgrade against Sloga Doboj (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and Porto Vitalis (Portugal) in September, and also were eliminated in Round 2 of the EHF Cup against Danish KIF Kolding one month later. In the SEHA league Lovćen is currently on the sixth place with three wins, one draw and two defeats.

This is the second time Milošević is leaving Lovćen as a coach. First time on the bench of Lovćen, more than a decade ago, he won two titles in former Yugoslavia (2000, 2001) and one national Cup (2002). In 2001 Lovćen reached the quarter-finals of EHF Champions League.

“I am a ´child´ of Lovćen, I started playing and coaching in this club. As a coach, I always won trophies with Lovćen, I have results behind myself. I have promised to the players that sooner or later I will be back to Lovćen and win trophies again. Lovćen remains in my heart, I will be always a friend to the club. I wish Lovćen all the best luck," added Milošević, who as a player of Metaloplastika was a winner of European Champions Cup in the 80’s.

Milošević was the first coach of the men's national team of Montenegro, and managed to qualify with the team for EURO 2008 in Norway, but he resigned before the tournament.

He was also coach of Women’s team of Budućnost, and led the team to the EHF Champions League semi-finals in 1999 and he worked in clubs in Spain, Macedonia and Qatar. In Qatar he was also coach of the national team.

As coach of the junior national team of former Yugoslavia, in 2002 he won the bronze medal at the European Junior Championship in Poland.
