New winners' trophy handed over to the LANXESS arena
2013 VELUX EHF FINAL4: winners’ trophy has arrived in Cologne
In less than seven months, the winners of the VELUX EHF Champions League will be decided and the coveted winners’ trophy will be presented by the EHF President, Jean Brihault in front of 20,000 excited fans in the LANXESS arena, alongside millions of viewers on television.
The VELUX EHF Champions League winners’ trophy is a unique piece which is given to the winning club and a new trophy is produced every season.
Just like in previous years, the trophy was designed by an Austrian metalwork artist, Stefan Gahr (www.metallart.at).
The creative idea of the artist is seen in the gilding of the casted hand holding the ball.
The trophy has just recently arrived in Cologne and was given over to the Managing Director of the LANXESS arena, Stefan Löcher, in the presence of the main sponsor, the VELUX Group, the trophy was then secured in the arena’s safe.
The top 24 clubs in Europe are once again battling it out for the trophy.
The best four will compete in the VELUX EHF FINAL4 on 1 /2 June in the LANXESS arena.
As in previous seasons, 20,000 enthusiastic spectators from over 40 countries will visit the VELUX EHF FINAL4.
Based on the successful ticket sales so far and the huge amount of enquiries, the 2013 VELUX EHF FINAL4 promises to be an extraordinary sporting event.
