Action packed opening day provides thrilling encounters

Every afternoon the European Handball Federation publishes a brief summary of the stories that have gone online on the EHF EURO 2012's dedicated website ehf-euro.com. This is the summary from the past 24 hours.

The 2012 Women's EHF European Championship in Serbia (4 to 16 December) began yesterday and as the tournament progresses, the number of stories on the host nation and the 16 participating teams steadily increases.

Romania and Germany nominate additional players
Romania have announced, as expected, goalkeeper Paula Claudia Ungureanu as an addition to their squad. Click here.

 EHF and Serbian dignitaries get EHF EURO underway
The eagerly awaited EHF EURO 2012 in Serbia was officially unveiled with a press conference in which senior officials of the European Handball Federation (EHF), the Serbian Handball Federation (RSS) country’s government voiced messages of cordial support for the 16-nation event in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Niš and Vršac. Managing the officials
Dragan Nachevski was elected onto the European Handball Federation’s Competition Commission, as Member for Refereeing Matters, at the 11th EHF Congress in Monaco, back in June 2012.EHF EURO 2012 is his first major competition in the new position and talks to www.ehf-euro.com about his preparations and wishes. Click here.

 

EHF EURO comeback after 18 years
History always repeats itself sooner or later. And in the case of Romanian coach Gheorghe Tadici it is a long-lasting history. Since 1974 Gheorghe Tadici is a handball coach. The 60-year-old Romanian first was the coach of club Zalau for 30 years, before he became head of the women's national team. Click here.
