Schedule of MOTW in last three rounds released
After the World Championship in Spain the VELUX EHF Champions League will resume in February and before the end of the Group Phase handball fans across the world will be served with three more Matches of the Week" (MOTW) on ehfTV.com.
These top matches will include a free of charge live web stream with English commentary by handball expert Tom Ó Brannagáin. They also offer additional footage and special camera setups.
The eighth edition of this season´s MOTW series will see Tom visiting the German capital on Sunday, 10 February.
"Berlin take on Barcelona in our first game back after the winter break. It is a heavyweight clash in the Champions League and although Barcelona comfortably won the home fixture, they would take this one lightly at their peril. Berlin are strong in the Max Schmelling arena and enjoy playing Spanish teams there (just ask León) I expect a classic with only a goal or two in it,“ Dublin based commentator indicates the outcome of the Group D match before his first journey in 2013.
Ó Brannagáin will return to Germany within a week to make the second trip to the court of the defending champions THW Kiel in this season and he is sure it will be worth to come back to Sparkassen Arena for this Group B duel.
"If the first game between these two is anything to go by, then this will be the best match we will see in the group stages of the Champions League. I was devastated to miss the first one live and Kiel will be stung into action. Top of the group might be out of Kiel´s reach but a timely reminder to Vezsprém that are not going away might be in store for us. I predict a win. For whom, I'm not saying,“ he said.
Group C and its top encounter between Slovenian Velenje and the Polish champions and group leaders from Kielce will conclude the commentator ´s travel schedule in the Group Phase.
"My third time to catch up with the Polish boys on their travels. They look strong. Velenje is a bit of an unknown for me but they have done exceptionally well to be above Metalurg at this stage. Five wins is nothing to be sneezed at and with home support its another test of the credentials of Kielce. Looking forward to watching Dolenec in action," Ó Brannagáin added.
The cooperation between ehfTV.com and Ó Brannagáin started in the 2008/2009 season at the Final in Kiel. Tom, an Irish national, is a former handball player and coach of the Ireland national team. He has a long career in television and radio in Ireland.
