Radičević set to leave Györ

Jovanka Radičević has decided to follow Andrea Lekić out of Györi Audi ETO KC at the end of this season.

The Montenegrin, who was chosen at right wing on the EHF EURO 2012 All Star Team in Serbia, did not agree a contract extension with the Hungarian champions and will play elsewhere next season.

“Simply, I have to put my heart and emotions aside, an athlete's career is short and we need to get the best out of it.

“I have to look at what is best for me this moment. I have spent a beautiful year and a half in Györ so far, the club is well organized and is always at the top. I hope it will be so until the end,” Jovanka Radičević told ehfCL.com.

Macedonian club Vardar are among the number clubs that are said to be interested in the right winger.

However, as Radičević herself confirms, her new club will certainly not be former club Budućnost, from where she moved to Györi Audi ETO KC in the summer of 2010.

“I have several top offers, including the one from Vardar. But, I can’t say anything for now.

“In the next couple of days I'll know where I will continue my career,” added Radičević.

Radičević said she wants to spend her final few months in Györi Audi ETO KC “in the best way, with good results.”

Success in her remaining time with the club is only one thing that will suffice for the 26 year-old, who has scored 24 goals so far in the Women’s EHF Champions League.

“We want to win trophies. I hope that we will provide good games. I want to get a EHF Champions League trophy with Györi Audi ETO KC before I leave the club,” siad Radičević.

Radičević and Györi Audi ETO KC play their opening Women's EHF Champions League Main Round match at home on Saturday, 2 February against Budućnost, which can be viewed live on ehfTV.com at 16:00 CET.

Györ will be seeking revenge for last season’s Women's EHF Champions League final, in which the Montenegrin side won the two-legged tie on away goals, after a 54:54 aggregate draw.

“It will be difficult, but we believe we can play a good game. We will do everything we can to win first two points, although it will not be easy,” Radičević concluded.
