EHF PRO coaching licence awarded to Master Coaches

150 European Master Coaches have been awarded with the EHF PRO coaching licence, the highest possible coaching diploma that the European Handball Federation awards.

The awarding follows the end of 2012 RINCK Convention Open Master Coach and Licensing Course which, after three modules being held in 2012, concluded in Belgrade in December 2012 and saw the first 20 handball coaches being presented with the EHF PRO coaching licence.

The EHF RINCK Convention was founded in 2000 with six members, with the number of member federations now having increased to 28.

Since the foundation each RINCK member nation was eligible to name coaches, who had already achieved Master Coach status on the national level (national RINCK Convention Master Coach courses), and these coaches have now been awarded with the EHF PRO coaching licence.

The licence will be valid until the end of the 2013/14 season. Its extension will be subject to the successful completion of a further EHF (or EHF recognised) training course in international handball within a transition period of another two years.

"The EHF RINCK Convention's major objective is to create and protect the coaching profession and ease the way for the free movement of qualified coaches within Europe," said Helmut Hoeritsch, coordinator for the EHF's Competence and Academy Network (CAN).

"The EHF also wants to promote the exchange of coach education by encouraging its member federations to share technical knowledge with the overall benefit of European handball in mind."
