21-year-old left wing is said to be sidelined for the rest of the season
Injured Manaskov replaced by David Korozija at Metalurg
Metalurg Skopje have paid a heavy price for reaching the last 16 of the VELUX EHF Champions League as one of their most promising players, 21-year-old Dejan Manaskov who had scored 42 goals in this season already, was heavily injured in the last match of the group phase.
The left wing tore his anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in the first half of the match against Bjerringbro-Silkeborg (32:18) and hence will be sidelinded for the rest of the season according to his club.
It is understood that Stefco Alushovski will fill the vacant position on the left wing for the remaining matches of the VELUX EHF Champions League - Metalurg will meet Dinamo Minsk in the last 16 - as well as for other domestic and regional competitions.
However, the club also signed a new player as replacement as former MKB Veszprem player, David Korozija, is bound to join the Macedonian team.
The 30-year-old former Slovenian international has so far played for Ribnica.
Metalurg and Dinamo Minsk know each other well as they played each other several times in the recent past.
During a summer tournament in August 2012, Metalurg had the upper hand with 26:23, while in 2010 Dinamo Minsk prevailed 27:21 in the qualification for the VELUX EHF Champions League.
