19-year-old Hampus Wanne will join the VELUX EHF Champions League participant for next season
The next Swedish talent joins SG Flensburg-Handewitt
VELUX EHF Champions League participant and German top club, SG Flensburg-Handewitt, have acquired a taste for young Swedish talents.
Some time ago they announced the signing of 20-year-old playmaker Jim Gottfridsson from Ystads IF for next season, and on Monday it emerged that the club has sealed a next season deal with 19-year-old Hampus Wanne, also from Sweden, who currently plays for Önnereds HK.
The Swedish junior national team player, who has signed a one year contract, is regarded as one of the greatest talents in Europe on the left wing position.
Flensburg's head coach, former Sweden international Ljubomir Vranjes, already sees him as a supplementary player to Danish international and Flensburg's top scorer in the VELUX EHF Champions League, Anders Eggert, who netted 59 times this season already.
"We have signed a young player who is going to develop further at the SG," Vranjes said.
"Hampus is keen on the task, and his is going to be a super addition to Anders Eggert on the left wing as well as to our team in general."
Hampus Wanne himself said: "I am really looking forward to my new challenge, to joining the team and of course to the fans in the 'hell of the north' (Flensburg´s home ground, the Campus Arena, ed.).
"Flensburg is a club with a great handball tradition, and with Ljubomir Vranjes as coach, I am sure I can develop a lot."
