Draw statements from the club´s representatives

Comments from all six club representatives following the draw for the quarter-finals of the Men´s EHF Cup.

The draw was conducted in Vienna on 26 March at 11:45 hrs (local time).

The three pairings are as follows:

RK Branik Maribor (SLO) vs Frisch Auf Göppingen (GER)

Andrej Bauman (RK Branik Maribor)

"All teams coming from the strong German league would be difficult, and we are satisfied because we know this team very well and they have a Slovenian goalkeeper (Primož Prošt, ed.) so it will be an interesting game.

"The EHF Cup Finals is a big motivation for us and the quarter-final against Göppingen will be a big event for the city and a chance for us to show what we can do."

Gerd Hofele (Frisch Auf Göppingen)

"We lost just one game in the Group Phase so we are very satisfied and it was very important that we were ranked first and play the second game at home which gives us a small advantage.

"In the quarter-final every team is very tough, it is important that we got an international team as it underlines the international aspect of the tournament."

KIF Kolding (DEN) vs Team Tvis Holstebro (DEN)

Thomas Christensen (KIF Kolding)

"We were quite happy about the draw, we have a good chance and it is good for Danish handball that one team will be in the first edition of the EHF Cup Finals.

"We might be small favourites as we are top of the Danish league and they are fifth."

Jacob Jørgensen (Team Tvis Holstebro)

"I think the matches will be very interesting against Kolding. We won at home and away against Wisła so we deserve to be here.

"We are a little surprised as we are a new team and with a new coach so we didn’t know where we stood, but now we know that we can compete against the top teams in Europe."

SC Magdeburg (GER) vs Rhein Neckar Löwen (GER)

Marc-Henrik Schmedt (SC Magdeburg)

"I don’t think out group was easy. We had Nantes, got three points and had our best game against them. Now we start again and have very tough games against Rhein Neckar Löwen."

Thorsten Storm (Rhein Neckar Löwen)

"Two tough games I think. We play on Sunday in the Bundesliga so we will get to know who the favourites are.

"The German Bundesliga is a strong league and you always expect German teams to be there at the end of the competition. If you want to win the cup you have to go through them."
