TV audience on Eurosport soars by 30 per cent
The thrilling matches of the round of Last 16 in the VELUX EHF Champions League recorded a significant increase of the TV audience in Germany.
According to the figures of the rights holding company Eurosport the second leg match between Atlético Madrid and Füchse Berlin was in average watched by 450.000 spectators at the screens and at the climax of the game the number skyrocketed to 660.000 viewers. In average the 2013 edition of the Last 16 reached the 30 per cent increase compared to the last year figures.
As Eurosport will broadcast all four duels with German teams involved (both legs of Kiel vs Veszprém and Flensburg vs Hamburg) in April, the quarter-finals are bound to beat the last year´s TV figures too.
Jürgen Höthker and Ulf Kahmke commentate the matches for Eurosport together with experts Martin Schmidt and Frank von Behren and the reporter Hans Finger.
