Head coach Holmen names 13 players and now faces the task to find the ten best for the 2013 European Beach Handball Championship in Randers
Denmark nominate women's squad for beach handball training camp
Morten Holmen, coach of the Danish women's beach handball team, has nominated 13 players for a training camp ahead of the European Beach Handball Championship in Denmark from 9 to 14 July 2013.
Ten of those will be forming the squad for the final tournament, but the first task for the squad will be the training camp in Randers, also the venue of the European Championship, from 17 to 19 May, including two test matches against Norway.
"There have been some changes in the team due to pregnancy and injuries, so it is some kind of a task to make the team work together within the relatively few training days we have before the championship," Morten Holmen was quoted on the Danish Handball Federation's website.
"But we have a strong stock, and I am really looking forward to testing the new players and to seeing the players, who have been with us before, again."
The Danish women's head coach also emphasised that the expectations are high in his team.
"We must admit that we go for a place on the medal podium.
"Our three silver medals (at the 2010 and 2012 World Championship and at the 2011 European Championship) have whetted our appetite, and it would be fantastic to be in the top on home ground in Randers," Morten Holmen added.
