Teams swap home right in the Men’s Challenge Cup Final

The upcoming winners of the Men’s Challenge Cup will not raise the trophy in Luxembourg, but in Belarus as Handball Esch and SKA Minsk agreed on the change of the home right in the final legs.

Originally, the draw on last Tuesday defined that the first leg scheduled for 18/19 May should be played in Minsk and the second leg should followed one week later in Luxembourg, but after the mutual agreement of both clubs Esch and Minsk swapped the home right.

Therefore Esch will host the first leg on 18/19 May and the rematch will take place on 25/26 May in the capital of Belarus.

While Handball Esch are writing history not only of their club, but also for Luxembourgish sport as the nation's first team ever in the final of any European Cup competition, SKA Minsk could add the sixth major trophy to their cabinet.

The army club from Minsk won three times the European Champions Cup (predecessor to the EHF Champions League) in 1987, 1989 and 1990 and also twice the Cup Winners' Cup (1983 and 1988).
