Fajok and Igel to lead teams to Randers
Poland announce beach handball coaches
The Polish Handball Federation (ZPRP) has named coaches for both the men’s and women’s national teams ahead of the 2013 European Beach Handball Championship in Randers.
Arkadiusz Fajok will retain his position as men’s team coach and will be responsible for preparation ahead of the Championship in Denmark.
Poland's men have to face silver medallist from Umag 2011, Russia, as well as Spain, Norway, Switzerland. Italy and hosts Denmark in Group B when the tournament throws off on 14 July.
Stanisław Igel has been named as the new head coach of the women’s national team.
Igel is one of the big names of beach handball in Poland. As a coach he has worked with a number Polish clubs and cooperates with the junior national team.
He is also the trainer of Pyrki Poznań BHT, Polish champions in 2007, 2008 and 2012. The club also participated in the European Beach Tour Finals in Algarve, Portugal in 2012.
The main task for Fajok as well as Igel will be to improve the result from 2011, when Poland finished tenth in the men’s event and eighth in the women’s.
The Polish Handball Federation has also announced the schedule of the Polish beach handball championship. Tournaments will be held in Sierpc, Inowrocław, Radom and Warsaw, with the Polish Cup to be played in Świnoujście.
