Opening Press Conference signals start of first EHF Cup Finals
EHF Cup Finals open in Nantes
In front of the French and international media, the EHF President, Jean Brihault, has officially launched the first EHF Cup Finals in Nantes...and unveiled the new trophy!
"It is a pleasure to be here in Nantes, and I have very good memories of each of my visits. I would like to thank the local club for the great work done by the organising team of Gael Pelletier," said Jean Brihault.
"This first edition in its new format, the EHF Cup, already shows some notable successes: four teams of high-level, an arena that is filled for two days and the interest of the media. Now, may the best win," the EHF President concluded.
"It is with great pride that the HBC Nantes hosts the EHF Cup and the clubs from Holstebro, Rhein Neckar and Göppingen," said Gael Pelletier.
"This is a great moment for us but also for the entire French handball to be the host of the finals of a European cup. For this, I wanted to especially thank EHF, to have trusted in us, and the City of Nantes for their great support.
He said: "I wish all players, managers, a lot of fun during the weekend to make the celebration complete."
Of course, it will be possible to follow the events on the EHF's dedicated onine streaming platform, ehfTV.com. French television will broadcast the event via beIN Sport, and for the rest of Europe, Eurosport.
The two-day tournament will also be the first to be broadcast live in the USA on beIN Sport.
