Much at stake for Poland in play-off against Sweden

After finishing at the top of Group 3 in the European qualification for the Women’s 2013 World Championship, Poland is now getting ready for their play-off match on 2 June against Sweden for spot at the final tournament in Serbia.

Poland had a successful preparation ahead of the match, winning a test match against Germany 27:24.

“We are very happy with this victory, because we know that Germany have very strong team. But we also know that our main goal is winning against Sweden and we have to concentrate for it," head coach Kim Rasmussen said.

"I have been waiting for matches like these. Each of my players will fight for the win until the final whistle."

The last time Poland’s women’s national team competed in a major handball tournament was in 2007 at the World Championship in France.

"We know that there is much at stake in the matches against Sweden. They are one of the best teams in the world, their strong point is the experience," said Rasmussen.

"If we want to play in Serbia a the World Championship, we have to play our best handball."
