The VELUX EHF Champions League Qualification Draw took place at the EHF Office in Vienna
Qualification groups determined
All twenty teams vying for six places in the 2013/14 VELUX EHF Champions League Group Phase know their respective hurdles now as the draw of the qualification was carried out in the EHF headquarters in Vienna on Thursday 27th June.
The draw has been conducted by Sándor Andorka, the member of the EHF Competition Commission for Club competitions.
The home right for both legs of the knock-out match between Handball Esch and HK DROTT Halmstad has been also drawn as the Luxembourgish surprise package of the last season's Challenge Cup will play the first leg away.
Twelve other qualification teams were divided into three groups. All tournaments will be played over the weekend 31 August/1 September in two semi-finals, in which teams from Pot 1 will play against teams from Pot 4 and teams from Pot 2 will meet teams from Pot 3, followed by finals.
In Group 2 the participant of the previous season's Last 16 Dinamo Minsk will take on AEK Athens and Tatran Prešov face Besiktas JK. In Group 3 Borac m:tel Banja Luka play against HC Motor Zaporozhye and RK Vojvodina against Alpla HC Hard and in Group 4 HCM Constanta meet HV KRAS/Volendam and FC Porto Vitalis face Elverum Handball Herrer.
The first right to organise tournaments has been drawn to the teams from the row 2 (Tatran Prešov, RK Vojvodina, FC Porto Vitalis).
The home right for the Wild Card knock-out match between HSV Hamburg and Füchse Berlin will be drawn on Friday, 28 June at 20:15 at the Gloriette in Vienna.
