Mørk commits future to Larvik

Norwegian champions Larvik HK have extended their contract with right back/winger Nora Mørk until the summer of 2016.

Towards the end of the 2012/13 season, the 22-year-old left handed shooter finally returned to the court after nearly two years on the sidelines due to a serious knee injury.

She came back in time to be part of the Women’s EHF Champions League finals, in Larvik’s defeat to Györi Audi ETO KC, and now she is keen on much more top handball.

“Considering the situation I have been in, this feels really safe and good, and I feel very well in Larvik.

“I am in the best club I could possibly be in, considering the ambitions I have on the handball court.

“There is a lot I still want to win with the club, it is here that I feel I have the best chances to reach my goal of playing with the Norwegian national team at the 2016 Olympics in Rio,” Mørk told Larvik HK´s website.

Head coach in Larvik Ole Gustav Gjekstad was also happy with the confirmation of Mørk´s contract extension.

“As everyone knows, Nora has been struggling a lot with injury over the past two years and we are extremely happy that things are now going the right way for her.

“What we saw, when she made her comeback at the end of the season, was very good after such a long absence.

“There is a lot of handball left in that girl and she has continued to improve after the end of the season. She will be important to us in the years to come,” Gjekstad said.

The 169 cm. tall Nora Mørk has played 93 matches for Larvik and 17 internationals for Norway so far. She was part of the EHF EURO 2010 winning Norwegian team.
