One in, one out for Kielce

2013 World Men's Handball Championship winner Julen Aguinagalde Aquizu has signed a 5-year contract with KS Vive Targi Kielce.

Spanish international Aguinagalde started his professional career at Bidasoa Irún in his hometown and represented the club until 2006. He then moved to CB Ademar León, where spent three seasons.

After his contract ended in 2009, he joined Renovalia BM Ciudad Real. He reached the VELUX EHF FINAL 4 with the Spanish club in 2010, 2011 and 2012. 

“We are happy that he chose our club. He also had a proposal from FC Barcelona. We want to sign a contract from 2014/15, but following Madrid’s serious financial difficulties we decided that he will join in this year.

“We are well known brand in Europe and we are pleased that he wants to play in the Polish league. We are going in the right direction, we want to fight to repeat the success of last season,” said club president Bertus Servaas.

Stojković left out

With the arrival of Aguinagalde, comes some bad news for current line player Rastko Stojković. The 32-year-old has left the club with immediate.

The Spaniard brought the number of players in the position to four and it was Stojković who was deemed as surplus to Kielce’s requirements and will now be searching for a new club.

"I'm very proud of the fact I could say that I played for Kielce. I will always have great respect for the entire region, the city and the people that I met here.

"We all know how fantastic the fans are and I will respect how quickly they accepted me here. I felt at home here," Stojković told Kielce's official website.

The Serbian was Kielce’s top scorer during last season’s VELUX EHF FINAL4 and scored eight goals in the third place match win over Kiel.
