European qualification groups for Women's U20 World Championship drawn

The six European qualification groups for the Women's 20 World Championship 2014 were drawn at the EHF Office in Vienna on Tuesday.

22 teams participate in the qualification and vie for the nine remaining spots that are available to European teams at the 24-nation tournament which takes place from 29 June to 13 July 2014 in Croatia.

Croatia as hosts, Russia and Hungary as first and second at the Women's 19 EHF EURO and Denmark as the reigning Women's 18 world champions are already qualified.

The teams were drawn into four groups of four teams each and two groups of three teams each. From Groups 1 to 3 the top two ranked teams qualify, from Groups 4 to 6 only the first ranked team qualifies.

The qualification tournaments will be played from 18 to 20 April 2014. The first right to organise them was drawn to Israel, Ukraine, Poland, Switzerland, Italy and Bulgaria.
