EHF Cup Finals host shortlist released

From a total of seven bidding clubs and organisations, the EHF has selected three to be taken forward to the next stage of evaluation to host the final round of the Men's EHF Cup.

The shortlist is made up of EHF Cup participants, Montpellier Agglomération HB and Füchse Berlin, as well as the Luxembourgish Handball Federation.

Four further clubs and organisations: HC Meshkov Brest, London Great Dane, AEK Athens and the Porsche Arena Stuttgart in Germany, have not been selected for consideration for the organisation of the event.

The bids

Füchse Berlin and Montpellier Agglomération HB propose hosting the two-day event in their home venues. The Füchse in the Max Schmeling Halle, which holds 8,700 spectators, and the French side in the Park & Suites Arena, which has a capacity of 9,000.

The only ‘neutral’ venue has been put forward by the Luxembourgish Handball Federation, which would host the competition in the country’s biggest venue, Grand Duchy – Le Coque Arena, in front of 5,400 spectators.

EHF Cup Finals

The second edition of the EHF Cup Finals will be played on 17/18 May 2014 in a final-four format with semi-finals to be played on Saturday and finals on Sunday.
