EHF EURO tickets selling like hot cakes
The final for the Men's EHF EURO 2014 in Denmark might be sold out, but that does not mean that Europe's handball fans have to miss out on their share of the action.
Since the last release on 7 November another 7,000 tickets have been sold, including all remaining ones for the championship's last day on 26 January 2014 when the bronze medal match and the final will be played.
"It's amazing that we, two months before the opening, have no more tickets available for the final day. This really underlines the huge interest we experience with this championship," says Danish Handball Federation President, Per Bertelsen.
Only another 15,000 of the overall 120,000 tickets in Herning, home venue for the Danish team, are still for sale.
Also ticket sales for the three other playing venues have increased, with 22,000 tickets being sold for the arenas in Aarhus, Aalborg and Copenhagen.
Norwegian and Swedish handball fans take up most of the seats in Aalborg (Preliminary Round Group B) and Copenhagen (Group D), while the four big handball nations, France, Serbia, Russia and Poland, are expected to draw huge crowds to the NRGi Arena in Aarhus (Group C and main round).
"We are happy to announce 22,000 spectators for Aalborg, Aarhus and Copenhagen, but we are still far from our goal.
"We work very hard on making all teams feel like being on home court and on creating an intense atmosphere with many spectators at the stands," says Per Bertelsen.
