Video and stats galore for beach handball aficionados

Who was the tallest team? Who scored most points and why didn't the championships' heaviest team win the competition?

If you have asked yourself one of these or any other similar question when thinking about the 2013 European Beach Handball Championships in Randers, Denmark in July this year, we have the right publication for you.

Following an in-depth analysis of all matches played in the men's and the women's competition the EHF's technical delegate for beach handball and former Turkish beach handball national coach, Burak Teczan, compiled a 19-page strong qualitative analysis.

It starts with a general overview of the number of matches played, sets won and average points scored and conceded per team.

Teczan then goes into further detail and has a look into i.e the average height and weight of each team. He continues with a score analysis and gives large attention to the development of attacking play in beach handball over the course of the previous three tournaments.

His compilation concludes with a close look at how the champions - Croatia in the men's competition and Hungary as the women's gold medallists - performed.

The entire analysis is available for download and for all stats gurus out there, Burak Teczan also analysed the Younger Age Category European Beach Handball Championships.

Video showcases tournament highlights

For everyone who needs to freshen up his memories before delving into the aforementioned analyses, Danish TV3, the event's host broadcaster, put together a short video showcasing the final tournament's highlights.

This video can be viewed and downloaded in the beach handball section on the EHF's activities website (Beach Handball European Championship 2013).
