"No time to waste ahead of Denmark"

Hello my dear handball friends. As we all know, the EHF EURO 2014 is less than two months away and I believe that the tournament in Denmark will bring us a lot of joy.

I can hardly wait for the show to start. We have a new head coach in Vladan Matic, one of the best youth team coaches, with whom I had a chance to work together at the beginning of his coaching career during my time at Pick Szeged.

I am very happy that we will be working together towards new battles and successes.

We played two matches against Czech Republic during our last national team week, where we saw all of the bad things in our play which we have to improve on.

There is not a lot of time to fix everything and we are in a unique position, because we have a new coach and have to adapt to the new system, there is no time to waste, which is why we have to be fully concentrated from the start of preparation.

Group of death

We are a country of unpredictable talent and are always hungry for sporting success, but success will not be easy this time around, as luck was not on our side in the draw for Denmark.

We are in the “group of death” alongside France, one of the best sides in the history of handball.

It is always a pleasure to compete against such a team. Russia are our permanent rival, we cannot avoid them, even in qualification. You never know against them. They can always surprise always, but you never know whether it will be a positive or negative surprise.

Of course, the third rival is my adopted country Poland, a team we have played against at the last three Championships (since the 2011 World Championship) and Olympic qualification.

I have here a lot of good friends in the team, including Wisnievski and Szyprzak, my teammates from Wisla Plock. I am looking forward to playing against them as we fight for our own nations.

I also have some playing experience in Denmark and it is a beautiful country. I would certainly recommend that you come along to what is going to be a great event.

The 27-year-old Petar Nenadic was part of the Serbian national team at the EHF EURO events in 2010 and 2012. His international career has led him from his home country where he played at Crvena Zvezda Beograd to FC Barcelona, Pick Szeged and currently to Polish side Orlen Wisla Plock with whom he reached the VELUX EHF Champions League Group Phase this season.
