New wingers for KIF Kolding København

Two new players will be sharing the time on the left wing for Danish champions KIF Kolding Købehavn from the coming season.

24-year-old Martin Dolk, who has played ten internationals for Sweden, joins from the Stockholm based league club Hammarby, while 18-year-old Magnus Landin, younger brother of Danish national team goalkeeper Niklas Landin, is joining from Danish 1. Division club Nordsjælland Håndbold.

Dolk and Landin have both signed two-year contracts with KIF, where they are replacing Stefan Hundstrup who has left for league rivals Bjerringbro-Silkeborg, and Boris Schnuchel who has ended his career at top level.

Both players were presented at a press conference in KIF Kolding København Thursday afternoon.

On the same occasion, 32-year-old Danish international Marcus Cleverly was introduced as the new partner to Kasper Hvidt in goal. As ehfCL.com previously reported, Cleverly is joining on a three-year contract from HSV Hamburg.

While the club has signed two new left wingers, no successor was announced to Albert Rocas on the right wing.

After only one season in the club, the 32-year-old Spanish international has returned to Spain for family reasons. He is joining Spanish league club Naturhouse La Rioja, where he will be reuniting with former FC Barcelona and Spanish national team colleague Juanin Garcia.

Admitting talks with Lindberg

KIF Kolding København director Jens Boesen has admitted to having had talks with Danish international Hans Lindberg about taking over the vacancy on the right wing. 32-year-old Lindberg is looking for a new club after his current club HSV Hamburg lost its German Bundesliga license.

At first, however, Hans Lindberg wants to give priority to a continued career overseas.

There are also still question marks in the backcourt line at KIF. While Joachim Boldsen has ended his career, it is still unknown if Kim Andersson will return to full fitness after his shoulder injury, for which he had surgery back in November.

Furthermore, there is also doubt about the versatile back court player Lasse Boesen is suffering from a rheumatic disorder, but so far the KIF director is taking all those matters easy.

“There are lots of players who do not have a job,” Jens Boesen told the newspaper Jydske Vestkysten.

Kristjánsson stays for three years

While there are still unanswered questions regarding the squad, the head coach for the next three years has been confirmed.

Aron Kristjánsson, who was hired a temporary coach during Henrik Kronborg´s abence due to illness this winter, is continuing in the job alongside his role as Icelandic national coach.

“Having won two titles with the club this season already, I am looking forward to the future and hope to get a step further in the Champions League next season,” Aron Kristjánsson said at Thursday’s press conference.
