Residential summer camp held in Scotland

The Scottish Handball Association held its first residential summer camp at Sportscotland National Sports Centre Inverclyde on 13 and 14 August.  

The camp was led by Thomas Broend, the Great Britain women's national team coach, and his wife Annelise, who is a former Danish national team goalkeeper. They were assisted by Great Britain and Scotland national team coaches.  

The camp was attended by 40 children aged from 11 to 16 years old from clubs throughout Scotland. This forms part of the joint EHF and SHA Infrastructure Support Programme (ISP).

The three-year agreement was signed at the end of 2013 and began in January 2014.  The SHA is using this as part of the process to increase the training hours for players and raise the level of youth handball in Scotland.
