French handball show set for first screening

On Monday 8 September, the French Handball Federation will launch its new online program dedicated to handball - 'Parlons Hand'.

Twice a month, exclusively on the internet, the show will gather fans and specialists alike in a new concept of handball talk-show.

Nicolas Chardon and Christophe Picard, who had the idea to create the show a couple of months back, explain what we can expect: "The interest of this project is to use the internet for the federation to reach players easily.

“This regular show aims to be original, because it will revolve around the new media."

Social media will be at the heart of the program. Using the official #parlonshand hashtag, fans will be able to ask questions to the guests or to submit ideas for future programs.

One hour after its end, the show will be available on Dailymotion.com to watch it again on demand.

Joel Delplanque, head of the French Handball Federation, is already very enthusiastic about Parlons Hand: "With ’Parlons Hand’, we will have an outside view on what is going on inside the federation.

“With the 2017 world championships in mind, we have to inform and get all of the French handball communities together.

“This will be another tool which will bring more coherence in the federation's communication; I want it to be interactive and to connect with as many people as possible.”

The first edition of the program will take place on 8 September at 19:00 hrs. CET. Handball fans all around the world will be able to watch it on the www.parlonshand.fr website, as well as on the French Handball Federation website.

Christophe Jammot, who will present the program, wants it to be "a handball program, made by fans of handball, for fans for handball. This is not a webcast, this will be filmed as a real TV program. Even if the federation is involved, the program will be filmed, designed and written by people outside the official bodies.”

Jammot will be helped by Armand Steiger, who regularly broadcasts second division games in France on the vision-sport website.

Guests for the show’s debut will be Luc Abalo, the international right wing from PSG, as well as Nodijalem Myaro, president of the French women’s league.

The show will also be the perfect occasion to celebrate the Men’s 18 EHF EURO title won in Poland a couple of weeks ago with head coach Eric Quintin, who will also be asked a few questions.

You can follow "Parlons Hand" via its Facebook page or follow @parlonshand on Twitter.
