NEWS REPORT: Women's EHF EURO 2014 tickets will be up for grabs at 11 EHF Champions League games in the upcoming three rounds.
Great legends to promote EURO across continent
Starting from Round 4 of the Women’s EHF Champions League, the European Handball Federation is launching a project with EHF EURO 2014 ambassadors. The initiative of the Women’s Handball Board will see ten great legends of Europe's handball courts visiting the games of the continental top flight in the upcoming three rounds to promote the flagship event of the 2014 national teams calendar.
The action starts in the arenas of the last season’s finalists as a former Champions League top scorer and the EHF EURO 2004 bronze medallist Timea Toth visits the Saturday’s Group C game of the defending champions vs Viborg HK, while three-time Champions League winner and the 2012 Olympic silver medallist Maja Savic heads for the Group B clash between the runners-up Buducnost and Thüringer HC.
Fans at all venues will not only be invited by ambassadors to the EHF EURO arenas in Hungary and Croatia (7-21 December 2014), but three of them will also win tickets to the preliminary groups matches of their respective national teams.
The ambassadors will also take part in half-time on-court activities like penalty shoot-outs with spectators. Five participants will be also given the official EHF EURO T-shirt with a “Handball, I love you” motto.
After the matches ambassadors will be at disposal to media and to fans at autograph sessions.
More stars of the past years will join the project in Round 5 and 6 - Snezana Petika in Koprivnica, Croatia, Natasa Kolega in Zagreb, Croatia, Isabelle Wendling in Metz, France, Matilda Boson in Sävehof, Sweden, Malgorzata Majerek in Lublin, Poland, Steluta Luca in Baia Mare, Romania and Lotte Kiaerskou in Viborg, Denmark.
