NEWS REPORT: Before the last main round matches in Group II it is still a four-way race as Sweden, Montenegro, France and the Netherlands all vie for two tickets to Budapest.
Sweden and Montenegro close to semi-finals
The decision for the EHF EURO 2014 semi-final spots in Main Round Group II in Zagreb has become a truly thrilling one and the two teams to make it will only be confirmed on Wednesday.
Four wins, one draw is the outstanding tally of the Swedish team at the tournament to date as they beat Slovakia 31:22 (17:10) in their second main round match at the Arena Zagreb on Tuesday.
But despite having seven points on their account their semi-final berth is not sealed yet as they can still get overtaken and end up ranked third in the group.
The defending champions Montenegro beat the Netherlands 31:27 to edge closer to Budapest, while Germany snatched a point from France after a 24:24 draw.
On Wednesday, the last day of the main round, all four contenders for the semi-finals will face in direct duels as Netherlands play France and Montenegro meet Sweden.
