Lucky winners are Budapest-bound
Two social media competitions ahead of the Women’s EHF FINAL4 have underlined the event’s popularity with thousands of fans participating for their chance to win tickets to the showpiece weekend on 9/10 May in Budapest.
The competitions were conducted via the EHF Champions League Facebook page, the Hungarian Handball Federation’s Facebook page as well as on site at the Papp Laszlo Budapest Sportarena, the venue of choice for the Women’s EHF FINAL4, during the final weekend of the Women’s EHF EURO 2014 in December.
The first competition, called ‘Share & win’, was already run in November. Fans were asked to share a graphic for their chance to win two tickets.
While the picture that showed Györi Audi ETO KC playmaker Anita Görbicz lifting the trophy after her team’s 27:21 final win against Buducnost in May 2014 was already shared close to 1,000 times on the EHF Champions League Facebook page, it proved a true hit with the Hungarian handball crowd, hitting above a record 11,000 shares on the federation’s Facebook page.
Eventually Erika Visegrádi Szabóné and Ivan Cristinel were the lucky winners and were rewarded with two tickets each.
The next competition, called ‘Let’s face it’, did not only reveal a first glimpse of the new look that will be used for event-related material, such as flyers and posters, in the future but also was a big crowd-gatherer at the final weekend of the Women’s EHF EURO in Budapest on 19 and 21 December.
Hundreds of fans sat down on the comfy sofa to have their photo taken in special photo box that saw them posing together with Györ’s Heidi Loke and FC Midtjylland’s Trine Ostergaard.
All photos were shared on Facebook and the people on the two most liked ones were awarded tickets to the Women’s EHF FINAL4.
The chance to like a photo came to a close on 6 January with Brigitta Bartha and Mátyás Petrás winning one pair of tickets and Ferenc Sebök scoring the second pair.
Join the handball party in May
