Hess and Donoso Andalaft handed two-match suspensions

The EHF Court of Handball has released three decisions following disciplinary proceedings against the players Marcel Hess (Pfadi Winterthur), Boris Sivak and Victor Andres Donoso Andalaft (HK AGRO Topolcany).

All three players were directly disqualified during the match of the 2014/15 Men’s EHF Cup Qualification Round 3 (Leg 2): Pfadi Winterthur (SUI) vs HK AGRO Topolcany (SVK) which took place on 30 November 2014.

Boris Sivak was directly disqualified in the 37th minute, for having elbowed his opponent in the face while freeing himself from the latter who was holding him following the defensive action.

Marcel Hess and Victor Andres Donodo Andalaft were directly disqualified in the 52nd minute following an altercation while they were both lying on the floor.

The EHF Court of Handball has decided not to sanction Boris Sivak further, finding that the sole disqualification of the player from the match is adequate to this specific behaviour according to the circumstances of the case.

Marcel Hess and Victor Andres Donoso Andalaft will be sanctioned with a two-match suspension for severe unsportsmanlike conduct based on the EHF List of Penalties. They are therefore not entitled to play the next official EHF competition match of their respective clubs.

For Marcel Hess, this mean he will not play the 2014/15 Men’s EHF Cup Group Phase matches: Haslum Handballklubb (NOR) vs Pfadi Winterthur (SUI) and Pfadi Winterthur (SUI) vs HSV Hamburg (GER) taking place respectively on 14 February and 18 February 2015.

Appeals to the EHF Court of Appeal may be filed within seven days, with no suspensive effect in the case of Marcel Hess.
