Back on the court

Dear handball fans,

This is my second blog for ehfCL.com and I want to use this opportunity to bring you closer to some of the events that occurred in my life over the past few months.

As you already know, I had to skip the first part of the season with a shoulder injury. It was very hard for me because I was preparing the whole summer with the team and I was looking forward to the excitement of the Champions League.

Life is unpredictable and you never know what will happen in future. Things didn’t go as I wished and planned and right before the start of the season my coaches and I decided that it will be better to find a solution for the pain in my shoulder, rather ignore the problem and allow it to turn into something serious.

From the one hand it was very hard for me when I heard this news because it is not an easy thing to see my team playing without having the opportunity to help them, but on the other hand I felt inner peace because I finally found a solution for the problem that was bothering me for about four years.

So I took this step and had the surgery. In the first month I didn’t do anything and I spent almost the whole month in Zagreb doing physiotherapy. Many thanks to doctor Chicek and the rehab section in the hospital Akrimion who helped me to get over all the difficulties, they made these difficult days much easier for me. After the surgery I felt very strange and sad because for the first time I didn’t train and play handball at all and I was only able to watch what was happening from the stands.

While I couldn’t play and had to focus on the rehabilitation period, my mother came to visit me and I was happy to have her by my side in this hard period of my life. She helped me a lot and her support means a lot to me. The interesting thing is that this was her first visit in Skopje and I was a little bit sad because she didn’t have the possibility to see me playing in the Champions League.

However, we took the opportunity to see a little bit of the city. I was also happy because the whole team gave me their support, and I would like to thank the girls, Vardar, my family and friends. Thanks to everyone who supported me and made me feel stronger.

In December I followed the EHF EURO in Hungary and Croatia. I feel sorry that Russia didn’t pass the group and it I’m very sad that one of the weakest results came just before the Olympic Games in Rio. I really hope that something will change in near future so that we get a good result at the World Championship and secure our ticket to the Olympics as these games are some of the most important in every player’s career.

When I think about the final in Budapest I have very good memories from this city where we played in the Women’s EHF FINAL4. It was the first time I experienced playing in the final of the Champions League and although we finished third, I consider this as a huge success for my team because in our first season we showed some really nice fighting spirit and won the bronze.

I started training at the beginning of the year and began preparing my body. I'm taking it step by step and it is really hard because after two months of injury I had to start everything from the beginning. Now I feel great, I feel happy that the most difficult months are already behind me.

I can finally start training with the team and I was thrilled when I heard this superb news. So now I’m starting to train with the team and I look forward to the upcoming matches.

Now I only hope and believe that my team and I will fight hard have a successful second half of the season. We are all hoping that once more we will be able to reach the FINAL4 and once again achieve a great result.

I also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who is supporting and believing in us. The biggest joy for a handball player is to see full stands of people who come to show their support and our job is to make them happy with victory on the court.

Thanks for reading everyone.

Bye,

Tata
