NEWS REPORT: Host nation Macedonia choose to join Group A alongside Sweden, Slovenia and Czech Republic at the draw event in Skopje on Wednesday morning
Hosts to take on champions Sweden at Women's 17 EHF EURO 2015
The Macedonian capital of Skopje hosted the final tournament draw for the Women's 17 EHF EURO 2015 on Wednesday morning, which will take place in Macedonia from 13 to 23 August.
Home nation Macedonia had the right to choose which group they would play in and chose Group A alongside defending champions Sweden, Slovenia and Czech Republic.
2013 runners-up Russia were drawn in Group B alongside Romania, Germany and Spain, while bronze medallists Denmark will face neighbours Norway as well as Hungary and Slovakia in Group D.
Present at the draw to assist Chairman of the EHF Competitions Commission Leopold Kalin in carrying out the draw were; Macedonian Handball Federation President Zhivko Mukaetov, MHF Secretary General Filip Miloshevski, WHC Vardar SCBT coach Indira Kastratovic, Macedonian W17 national team coach Julijana Damcevska and capitan Jovana Vladeva.
The draw results are as follows
Group A: Sweden, Slovenia, Macedonia, Czech Republic
Group B: Russia, Romania, Germany, Spain
Group C: Portugal, Croatia, France, Netherlands
Group D: Denmark, Norway, Hungary, Slovakia
The playing venues for the Women's 17 EHF EURO 2015 are the Skopje arenas Jane Sandanski and the Boris Trajkovski.
