Hard work for Szczecin in the second leg

With a one-goal lead from the first leg, Pogon Baltica Szczecin travel to Ukraine to face Galytchanka in the second leg of the semi-final tie in the Women's Challenge Cup on Saturday afternoon.

Pogon’s 29:28 win in their home match in Poland will not give them a big advantage and Galytchanka will see a good chance to make up that narrow lead with their home crowd behind them and proceed to their first European final.

As this is the Polish team's first season in European handball, reaching the final would mean a historic achievement for them as well.

In the second semi-final, however, neither HAC Handball nor Union Mios Biganos-Begles are new to European handball or to playing finals.

Biganos-Begles won the Challenge Cup final in the 2010/11 season, and the following year HAC raised the trophy.

This time HAC seem to have the far better chances of the two French teams to reach the final once again.

Ahead of the second leg on Friday night in Le Havre, HAC are leading by seven goals after winning 28:21 away last weekend, which means Biganos-Begles will need to improve considerably to turn the tables in this tie.
