Italy can set up 'group finals' against Romania

For Georgia and Kosovo the first qualification stage for the EHF EURO 2018 in Croatia already comes to an end on Sunday.

While the Georgians still can hope for qualification to the next stage, Kosovo's first official competition will inevitably come to an end, after they conceded defeats in all three matches they played so far.

Group B: Luxembourg vs. Georgia / Sunday, 18:00 hrs. in Luxemburg – First leg: 16:17

If Georgia win this away game, they will have 6 points on their account – and depending on the results of the two Luxembourg vs Estonia encounters in June, their dream to proceed to the next stage could become reality.

In the first leg, Georgia nearly gave the win from their hands in the final stages of the match and on home court Luxembourg are thought to be stronger.

Group C: Italy vs. Kosovo / Sunday, 18:00 hrs. in Follonica – First leg: 29:22

Another win would bring the Italian team in a perfect position for two real “group finals” in June against Romania, as both opponents would then have four points on their accounts.

In the first leg, Kosovo had improved compared to their first duels with Romania, but remained nevertheless without a chance in the end.
