Stars and former Champions League winners take court in Berlin

Following the MVM EHF FINAL4 in Budapest the time has come for the second spectacular event of the culmination in club handball's 2014/15 season. Two weeks before the VELUX EHF FINAL4 in Cologne, the focus of all handball fans has shifted to Berlin, which hosts the second edition of the EHF Cup Finals.

Not only the fans who make their journey to the Max-Schmeling-Halle can look forward to the four top class matches this weekend as there will be an extensive coverage provided by the EHF and EHF Marketing.

Remarkable TV coverage is guaranteed as the live signal from the Max-Schmeling-Halle will be broadcast in many countries across the European continent and further afield. In addition, many stations will also provide a summarising news coverage.

The German broadcaster, Sky Deutschland, will broadcast the final weekend of the Men’s EHF Cup live and exclusively in its German-speaking markets. beIN Sports will provide the signal in France and MENA territories (North Africa and Middle East), Dolce Sport in Romania and TV3 Sports in Denmark.

Even in countries without broadcasters handball lovers will not miss a single minute of Berlin action, as all four matches and at least 240 minutes of top level handball will be available via the online streaming platform of the EHF – ehfTV.

Four great teams and plethora of stars

Only big names of continental handball have made it all the way to the final tournament in the Max-Schmeling-Halle as all four teams are either regulars in the VELUX EHF Champions League or in the final stages of other European Cups. The event's hosts Füchse Berlin were the part of the VELUX EHF FINAL4 in 2012. In the semi-final they face Rk Gorenje Velenje, the Slovenian team which reached the VELUX EHF Champions League Last 16 in the two previous seasons.

Another German powerhouse HSV Hamburg won the EHF Champions League in 2013 and are highly touted favourites in Berlin. However, they cannot afford to underestimate the two times Challenge Cup winners from Denmark, Skjern Handbold.

The player lists of these four teams feature an abundance of stars, including stalwarts of Hamburg's 2013 winning team like Johannes Bitter or Pascal Hens, former Champions League winners Iker Romero and Konstantin Igropulo as well as iconic goalkeeper Silvio Heinevetter.
