EHF EURO 2016: 100 days left until throw-off

100 days before the start of the Men’s EHF EURO 2016, press conferences were held in the host cities of Krakow, Katowice, Gdansk, Wroclaw and Warsaw. In the capital, the EHF EURO 2016 Ambassadors were announced and the trophy tour was launched.

The press conferences dealt with the preparation of and outlook for the EHF EURO 2016 exactly 100 days before the tournament starts.

On 1 October the second pool of tickets for all the matches of the championship was released.

"Over 20 thousand tickets for all the matches of the EHF EURO 2016 were made available, including 12 thousand tickets for the duels in Krakow.

"Once again, they attracted great interest. Tickets for the Polish National Team matches in the TAURON Arena Krakow sold out in less than two minutes, which is further evidence of the growing popularity of handball in Poland,” commented the Vice President of the Polish Handball Federation Marcin Herra at the press conference in Krakow.

Fans from all over Europe have been able to purchase their tickets for the tournament in January since last June.

Tickets can be purchased through the official website ehf-euro.com or via the official portal ebilet.pl, which is an official ticket partner of the EHF EURO 2016.

You can also buy tickets for the Men’s International Handball Tournament which will be held on the 7 and 8 November in the Ergo Arena in Gdansk. The national teams of Poland, Sweden, Spain and Russia will all take part in this test tournament.

During the EHF EURO 2016 fans will be able to follow the matches also in special fan zones placed on the Small Market Square (Mały Rynek) in Krakow, the Spire Square (Plac pod Iglicą) in Wroclaw, Square at Spodek (Plac pod Spodkiem) in Katowice and on the Coal Square (Targ Węglowy) in Gdansk. Each zone will accommodate approximately 1500 people.

The press conference in Warsaw marked the inauguration of the trophy tour.

From Warsaw, the trophy will go to Plock and Kielce, and then onto host city of the EHF EURO 2016 final – Krakow.

During the conference in Warsaw the EHF EURO 2016 Ambassadors were presented: Bogdan Wenta, Marcin Lijewski, Janusz Czerwinski, Stanislaw Majorek, Otylia Jedrzejczak, Rafal Brzozowski and Mika Urbaniak.

The Men’s EHF EURO 2016 will be held from 15 to 31 January in Krakow, Katowice, Wroclaw and Gdansk. Nearly 1,000 volunteers will support the organization, and the recruitment of these volunteers will end on 14 October. Three days earlier, on 200 handball courts Poland will try to break the Guinness World Record for the most simultaneous handball training sessions.
