The draw for the 2016 M16/W16 Beach Handball European Championships will take place on Tuesday, 23 February 2016 at 10:00 hrs. 32 national teams have been confirmed for the event taking place in July in Portugal.

A total of 32 teams will play in the 2016 M16/W16 Beach Handball European Championships scheduled to be played 8 to 10 July 2016 in Nazare, Portugal.
The competition’s draw will take place on Tuesday, 23 February 2016 at 10:00 hrs in the EHF Office in Vienna.
A live ticker will be available for the draw at eurohandball.com and the draw can be followed on the @EHF twitter channel.
The 16 men’s and 16 women’s teams taking part have now been confirmed for the event.
Men’s competition:
Pot 1 - 1. Russia; 2. Croatia; 3. Spain; 4. Hungary; 5. Portugal; 6. Switzerland; 7. Georgia; 8. Romania
Pot 2 - 9. Italy; 10. Poland; 11. Netherlands; 12. Ukraine; 13. Bulgaria; 14. Greece; 15. Slovakia; 16. Germany
Substitute nation: Turkey
Women's competition:
Pot 1 - 1. Hungary; 2. Spain; 3. Germany; 4. Russia; 5. Croatia; 6. Romania; 7. Switzerland; 8. Poland
Pot 2 - 9. Portugal; 10. Ukraine; 11. Norway; 12. Netherlands; 13. Lithuania; 14. Bulgaria; 15. Greece; 16. Italy
Substitute nations: Slovakia, Turkey
The top four finishers from the event will qualify for the IHF U17 World Championship in 2017 to be played in a venue yet to be announced by the International Handball Federation.
The top three European nations at the World Championship will then qualify to play in the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina as beach handball makes its debut in the competition programme.
