«Go back »Print Version

ROUND PREVIEW: Swedish Höör who won the Women's Challenge Cup in 2014 are taking their first step towards a remake of that triumph. In the 2013-14 season, H 65 Höörs HK won the Women´s Challenge Cup.

Former Challenge Cup winners chasing more success

Last season, the team from the small Swedish town Höör reached the quarter-final of the EHF Cup, but now the team is back in the Challenge Cup, chasing more success there.

Their first hurdle will be the entirely Spanish outfit from European debutants Prosetecnisa Bm Zuazo who are visiting Sporthallen in Höör for the first leg Saturday afternoon.

Last season, Kram Start Elblag reached the semi-final of the Challenge Cup.

In their attempt to take the first step towards similar or higher success, the Polish side are travelling to Austria to meet UHC Müller Bau Stockerau.

The first match between the two teams is taking place Saturday evening in the Sportzentrum Alte Au in Stockerau.

Ardesen GSK paid a visit to the Cup Winners' Cup last season, and with a certain success, as the Turkish club made it to the Last 16.

Now, Ardesen are back in the Challenge Cup, where they reached the quarter-final in 2014 as well as in 2015.

In order to make it to the Last 16 this time, they will need to overcome WHC Danilovgrad, who are visiting Ardesen for the first leg Sunday in the late afternoon.

Dutch Virto/Quintus made it as far as the quarter-final of the tournament last season.

At the moment, their first objective will be the Last 16, and to reach this stage, they will have to win their two home games this weekend against European debutants ZRK Mira Prijedor from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The first match is taking place in Kwintsheul, Netherlands, Saturday afternoon, the return match in the same venue the following afternoon.

We will see two more double headers in the tournament this weekend.

In Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, ABU Baku are receiving Belgian Femina Vise for two matches Saturday and Sunday, while KHF Shqipona from Kosovo are hosting Maccabi Arazim Ramat gan from Israel Saturday and Sunday evening.
