VELUX supports the stars of the future through ‘Let’s Play’ campaign
Title sponsor of the VELUX EHF Champions League, the VELUX Group, has officially launched its ‘Let’s Play’ campaign, offering youth teams between the ages of 8 and 14 the chance to win a set of handballs completely free of charge.
The campaign was soft-launched at the start of the 2016/17 season and is to be further developed and expanded over the coming years. This season alone more than 3,000 handballs will be distributed across Europe.
Successful applicants receive 12 VELUX EHF Champions league-branded handballs and a specially designed ball net from the official EHF ball supplier, SELECT. More than 500 teams have already applied for new balls and 100 sets of junior handballs have already been dispatched.
Anton Kragh Lauritzen, Head of Sponsoring & Events at the VELUX Group, said:” We have been truly amazed at the response to the campaign from the handball community so far. Following successful testing of the concept in the first half of the season, we are now ready to push out the campaign to even more youth teams across Europe.”
He continued: “Our aim through this campaign is to give something back to the handball community and the future of the game, engaging with teams and players at a grassroots level. This is just the start though and we are looking forward to further developing the ‘Let’s Play’ concept with further exciting initiatives coming soon.”
David Szlezak, Managing Director of EHF Marketing GmbH, was equally enthusiastic about the new campaign, and said: “As title sponsor, the VELUX Group has always been very active in its support of the sport at both elite and grassroots levels. The ‘Let’s Play’ campaign offers VELUX the perfect opportunity to engage and inspire the next generation of handball players.”
To take part in the campaign, youth teams need to submit their applications via the VELUX Group’s dedicated handball website: veluxhandball.com. Applicants have the opportunity to choose from handballs in sizes 0, 1 and 2.
In addition to the ball giveaway, a EUR 2,000 voucher for purchasing team kit will be drawn at the end of the season. To be in with a chance of winning the voucher, teams need to share their photos at veluxhandball.com posing with their brand new handballs.
Any youth team or club in Europe are welcome to apply at: veluxhandball.com/apply-for-balls. To find out more, visit the Q&A page on the veluxhandball.com website.
