It's a family affair in Silkeborg

It will be a family reunion in the Jysk Arena in Silkeborg, when Bjerringbro-Silkeborg host MOL-Pick Szeged for the first leg of their Last 16 tie in the VELUX EHF Champions League. The Slovenian brothers Sebastian and Stas Skube will go against each other as they line up for their respective teams.

• Bjerringbro-Silkeborg reached the Last 16 by finishing sixth in Group A of the group phase
• MOL-Pick Szeged qualified from third position in Group B
• Bjerringbro-Silkeborg qualified for the Champions League as Danish champions, while Szeged were runners-up in Hungary
• The match will be a meeting between the Slovenian brothers Sebastian and Stas Skube

A family reunion will be part of the match, when Bjerringbro-Silkeborg and MOL-Pick Szeged meet for the first leg of the Last 16 on Sunday afternoon. The Slovenian brothers Sebastian and Stas Skube – both playmakers - will be at opposite ends of the court when the match throws off in Silkeborg's Jysk Arena. While Sebastian Skube represents Silkeborg, his younger brother Stas plays at centre back for the visitors.

"He and I have played many games against each other. The only difference is that this time, he (Stas) is favourite as he plays in a bigger team. Of course, I am looking forward to playing against him, though. It will be awesome," Sebastian Skube told Bjerringbro-Silkeborg's official website.

Hosts with injury problems

While Pick Szeged are in the Last 16 for the third time in succession, it is the first time in four years Bjerringbro-Silkeborg have made it this far. Apart from playmaker Stas Skube, right back Zsolt Balogh, left wing Jonas Källman and line player Bence Banhidi have been on fire for Szeged lately.

Bjerringbro-Silkeborg are hampered by injuries to right wing Johan Hansen, playmaker Allan Damgaard and second goalkeeper Sebastian Frandsen.
