Sporting become first team into semi-finals

Sporting CP win 62:48 on aggregate
Portuguese side Sporting CP are the first team through to the semi-finals of the EHF Men’s Challenge Cup after beating Greek side A.C. Doukas by 14 goals on aggregate (62:48) following their 27:25 win in Almada today.
In the two-legged tie which with both games played in Portugal this weekend, Sporting had already put one foot in the last four after winning by 12 goals yesterday, 35:23 which nearly reduced the second match today to a formality.
With such a cushion the home team took things a bit easier this time as the Greek visitors made the game much more equal, and at half-time, the score was even, 14:14.
As the second half went by, however, Sporting still managed to earn another win, though the final digits were only 27:25 this time.
Left wing Pedro Solha was the top-scoring player for Sporting with nine goals, while right wings Garyfalos Bagios and Dimitrios Tziras scored six each for A. C. Doukas.
The remaining three semi-finalists in the competition will be known next weekend, from HC Sloga Pozega, Valur, AHC Potaissa Turda, HB Dudelange, JMS Hurry-Up and HKM Sala.
