Official EHF Champions League match balls revealed
The official ball supplier for Europe’s top club handball competitions, SELECT, has unveiled the new match ball design for the VELUX EHF Champions League and Women’s EHF Champions League in the coming season.
The dynamic design has been developed by the Denmark-based company, SELECT, together with EHF Marketing GmbH.
Retaining the traditional 32-panel ball construction, SELECT has created a ball with optimum roundness and reliable aerodynamics – resulting in a straight flight and controlled bounce – with an additional embossed element taken from the competitions’ corporate identity to enhance grip.
The two colour variations of the new ball were launched at the semi-finals draws of the VELUX EHF FINAL4 in Cologne on 2 May and the TIPPMIX EHF FINAL4 draw on 18 April.
The new SELECT ‘Ultimate’ match balls will already see action ahead of the new season in both Cologne and Budapest, where they will be used for the final matches of the current season.
New official ball available to buy exclusively in Budapest and Cologne
The new match ball for the Women’s EHF Champions League will be available to purchase exclusively in the Heroes Square in Budapest on Friday, 5 May and in the Papp László Budapest Sports Arena on Saturday, 6 May and Sunday, 7 May.
Similarly, the match ball for the VELUX EHF Champions League will only be available to fans with tickets to the VELUX EHF FINAL4 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (2-4 June) at the LANXESS arena, Cologne.
The new ‘Ultimate’ balls will be available in both the ‘match’ and ‘replica’ versions and will be available to purchase direct from sports dealers from 6 June 2017 onward.
