Preliminary round groups for Men's EHF EURO 2018 drawn

An invited audience of 1,800 watched as on Friday the draw was conducted for the Men's EHF EURO 2018, which will be played from 12 to 28 January 2018.

The draw was conducted by the EHF President, Michael Wiederer; President of the Croatian Handball Federation, Tomislav Grahovac and the EHF’s Chief Sports Officer, Markus Glaser. The result of the draw was as follows:

Iceland Austria Slovenia Hungary

Assisting with the draw were the top players: Igor Vori (Croatia), Kristian Sæverås (Norway), Gergely Harsányi (Hungary) and Gašper Marguč (Slovenia).

Main round venues

Following the preliminary round, the main round will be played in Zagreb and Varazdin.

The three best ranked teams from Group A and Group B will continue in the main round group in Zagreb, while the top three teams from Group C and Group D each will play in the main round group in Varazdin.

The venue for the final weekend is the Arena Zagreb in the nation's capital.

Where to buy tickets

Tickets for the event are available to purchase now in the ticket shop on the official website – ehf-euro.com.


The next batch of tickets, including tickets for the final weekend including semi-finals and finals, are planned to be released from Tuesday, 27 June.

Further releases and additional sectors will be released in the coming weeks with announcements to be at ehf-euro.com.

Official match ball unveiled



The EHF’s official ball supplier, SELECT, launched the official ball for the tournament at the draw event.

The ULTIMATE ball is the company’s top product and the ball used across professional leagues and competitions worldwide.

For the 2018 event, the ball has been designed to incorporate elements of the event CI and the hosting nation, Croatia.

Soon after the draw, a naming competition will be launched to have the official match ball named for the first time in EHF EURO history.
