Big names among 88 clubs to compete for Women’s EHF Cup and Challenge Cup glory

Randers HK (DEN) and Lada (RUS), both winners of the EHF Cup in its old format, are among just eight sides seeded in Qualification Round 3 of the Women’s EHF Cup.

In total, 54 clubs will take part in Europe’s second-tier club competition, 28 of whom will begin their journey in the first round on 9/10 and 16/17 September.

18 teams will jump into the mix in Qualification Round 2 (14/15 and 21/22 October), including 2016 EHF Cup champions DKKA Dunaujvaros KA of Hungary, Denmark’s three-time EHF Champions League winners Viborg HK and two sides which competed in Europe’s top flight last season – Astrakhanochka (RUS) and Glassverket (NOR).

24 teams will compete in the final qualification round on 11/12 and 18/19 November for a berth in the EHF Cup Group Matches, alongside the four teams eliminated from the Women’s EHF Champions League Group Matches.

The draw for the first two rounds will take place on 18 July at the EHF Office in Vienna, the third round draw will be conducted on 24 October.

The two most recent champions of the Women’s Challenge Cup, Lokomotiva Zagreb (CRO) and Rocasa Gran Canaria ACE (ESP) will begin their quest to claim the title again alongside 28 other clubs in Round 3 of the competition (played on 11/12 and 18/19 November).

One month earlier, ZRK Krivaja Zavidovici (BIH), HC Müllner Bau Stockerau (AUT), ZJRK Bor RTB (SRB) and Olimpus-85 SSSH2 (MDA) will be the only sides in Round 2 action, taking place on 14/15 and 21/22 October.

The draw for both rounds will take place on 18 July at the EHF Office.
