NEWS: The preliminary round groups for the Men's 20 EHF EURO 2018 in Slovenia were drawn in Celje on Monday
Starting grid confirmed for Men's 20 EHF EURO 2018
The preliminary round groups for the Men's 20 EHF EURO have been drawn in the Slovenian city of Celje on Monday.
Celje also hosts the final tournamemt which will be played from 19 to 29 July 2018.
France, the Men's 18 EHF EURO 2016 champions as well as the gold medallists of the Men's 19 World Championship last year, have been drawn to group D together with Denmark, Portugal and Hungary.
Hosts Slovenia opted - as organisers they had the right to do so - to play in group B and will be facing Serbia, Norway and Israel. The overview of the four preliminary round groups looks as follows.

The Men's 21 World Championship will take place in Spain next year. Besides hosts Spain an additional 10 teams from the Men's 20 EHF EURO will qualify for the final tournament.*
At the same time as the Men's 20 EHF EURO, from 20 to 29 July, the Men's 20 EHF Championships in FYR Macedonia and Montenegro will also take place.
Celje also hosted the Women's 19 EHF EURO last year.
* an earlier version of this article stated an incorrect number of teams that would qualify from the Men's 20 EHF EURO 2018 for the Men's 21 World Championship 2019. This has been amended to the correct number of 10 plus hosts Spain.
