NEWS REPORT: Only the last set of main round matches on Sunday finalised the quarter-final pairings in the European top flight
Quarter-final pairings set - defending champions take on Buducnost
Following the completion of the Women's EHF Champions League Main round all is finally set for the quarter-final stage. While four teams - RK Krim Mercator, NFH - Nykøbing Falster Handball, SG Bietigheim and Thüringer HC have ended their European journey this season, eight sides start preparation for the last step on the road to the Women's EHF FINAL4 in Budapest (12-13 May 2018).
Only the last set of main round matches on Sunday have finalised the four pairings. The defending champions and Group 1 winners, Györi Audi ETO KC will take on the two-time trophy holders Buducnost in another chapter of an old rivalry between the two powerhouses.
Last season's runners-up Vardar, who won Group 2, face FC Midtjylland, while Rostov-Don lock horns with FTC-Rail Cargo Hungaria and Metz Handball meet CSM Bucuresti in what will be the first two competitive matches between the two sides in history.
The first quarter-final leg is scheduled for 6-8 April, while the second will follow over 13-15 April. The exact playing times of both legs will be announced in due time.
