Men's and Women's 18 Beach EURO throws off in Ulcinj
The first day at the Men's and Women's 18 Beach EURO in Ulcinj, Montenegro, jam-packed with matches across four courts, has already separated the wheat from the chaff in the men's competition.
With Spain, winners of the under-17 Beach EURO last year in Zagreb, and Poland from group A, Hungary and Portugal from group B, Germany and Italy from group C and Russia from group D, seven out of eight participants for Saturday's quarter-finals are already known.
All seven teams kept a clear record and won all the matches they played on Friday. The last quarter-finalist will be decided among Slovakia, Croatia, Greece and Turkey in group D.
The men's quarter-finals will be played at 15:45 and 16:45 local time on Saturday. The remaining group matches are played in the morning.
