Montenegro ready for Men’s 20 EHF Championship
Podgorica, home of the all-conquering Buducnost women’s handball team, will host one of two Men’s 20 EHF Championships this summer as the Montenegro capital prepares to welcome 11 young European men’s teams to the Verde Complex from 20-29 July.
All games will be live and free on ehfTV.com, alongside a live score ticker.
Playing format
Exactly one year ago, 11 participants were drawn into two preliminary round groups – group A featuring six teams and group B consisting of five teams.
In Podgorica, each team will play each other once in the group stage, with games being played from 20 to 26 July. The winners and runners-up of each group will then qualify directly into the semi-finals. Those teams finishing third and below go into cross matches and then placement matches.
The semi-finals are scheduled for 28 July, and then finals day will be the following day - 29 July.
The groups are:
Group A: Czech Republic (CZE), Austria (AUT), Netherlands (NED), Moldova (MDA), Kosovo (KOS), Bulgaria (BUL)
Group B: Slovakia (SVK), Turkey (TUR), Montenegro (MNE), Latvia (LAT), Georgia (GEO).
All games will take place at the Verde Complex, a modern 2,100 capacity sports hall, which forms part of a hotel, conference, wellness and spa venue.
