Four more teams chase main round berth

With two rounds of the Women’s EHF Champions League Group Matches still to play, Group B sides Rostov-Don and Brest Bretagne Handball have already qualified for the main round.

Another team from Group B, Kobenhavn Handball, can follow them if they earn at least a draw this weekend, while up to three teams from Group A can also secure their place in the next round if results go their way.

GROUP A

Larvik HK (NOR) vs Metz Handball (FRA)
Saturday 10 November, 15.15 hrs local time, live on ehfTV.com

  • Metz will go through with at least a draw, while Larvik must win to keep their main round hopes alive

  • Metz have conceded the fewest goals (86) of all teams in the group matches so far

  • Larvik (91) and Metz (94) are the two teams with the fewest goals scored this season

  • Metz beat Besancon 34:32 in the French league Wednesday, while Larvik had no domestic match

Odense HC (DEN) vs Buducnost (MNE)
Sunday 11 November, 15.10 hrs local time, live on ehfTV.com

  • A draw will see Odense advance in their debut CL season, while Buducnost can reach the main round with a win

  • Odense lost 31:28 to Buducnost in their first meeting in Podgorica

  • Odense won 26:20 at Ajax København in the Danish league Wednesday

GROUP B

Brest Bretagne Handball (FRA) vs Kobenhavn Handball (DEN)
Saturday 10 November, 15:00 hrs local time, live on ehfTV.com

  • Already-qualified Brest have the second-best attack (130 goals scored) of the competition, trailing only Györ (141)

  • Kobenhavn started the season with two wins but have dropped to third after two defeats against Rostov

  • A draw in Brest will secure Kobenhavn progression to the next stage

IK Sävehof (SWE) vs Rostov-Don (RUS)
Sunday 11 November, 16:30 hrs local time, live on ehfTV.com

  • Sävehof have lost four straight matches in the group

  • Rostov are through to the main round after beating Kobenhavn last week

  • Rostov’s Anna Vyakhireva is second on the top scorers’ list, with 32 goals

  • Rostov beat Kuban 35:31 in the Russian domestic league on Tuesday
