Court of Appeal upholds fines for PGE Vive Kielce

The Court of Appeal has rejected the appeal filed by the club PGE Vive Kielce against the decision of the Court of Handball rendered on 20 December 2018 following incidents occurred during the VELUX EHF Champions League match between PGE Vive Kielce (POL) and HC Vardar (MKD) played on 14 October 2018.

The appeal body confirmed all findings of the Court of Handball, namely that:

• The club's players and officials adopted an unsportsmanlike conduct by getting involved into a brawl.
• The club failed to undertake all measures required to ensure security and safety in the playing hall.
• The club is responsible for the behaviour of their supporters having affixed an offensive and ideological banner.

All three fines of €5,000, €2,500 and €7,500 imposed for the aforementioned violations were thus upheld and regarded as proportionate and adequate.

A recourse to the EHF Court of Arbitration may be filed within 21 days.
